In his first telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Joe Biden assured that the United States would continue to support Ukraine's sovereignty.
According to "European Truth", this is stated in the White House communiqué, published following a telephone conversation.
"President Biden reaffirmed the United States' strong support for Ukraine's sovereignty," it said.
Biden also raised a number of other embarrassing issues, including the alleged hacking of US Treasury e-mails, reports that Russia is promoting awards for US soldiers in Afghanistan, interference in the 2020 US election and the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.
"President Biden has made it clear that the United States will act decisively to protect its national interests in response to Russia's actions that harm us or our allies," the statement added.
It is noted that the presidents agreed to continue "transparent and meaningful" communication.
As previously reported, in a telephone conversation, the presidents almost agreed to extend the nuclear treaty.
