Досягнуті успіхи Європейського Союзу підтверджують життєдайність ідеї європейської інтеграції, доводять високий рівень утвореної інтеграційної системи впорядкування. Інтеграція по-європейськи дійсно є вінцем попереднього політичного, економічного та соціального розвитку Західної Європи.

Leaders don’t have problems, they have opportunities

On the 25th of May at the Embassy of Lithuania in Kyiv was held the Ukraine-Baltics Leadership Forum. The aim of the Forum was to stimulate an important discussion on Ukraine’s European integration and relations with the Baltic countries in the political, cultural and commercial areas. Politicians, scientists, public figures, representatives of leading NGOs joined discussion about the European integration, participation of young leaders in the life of the country, prospects and opportunities of more active involvement in the foreign policy processes.

The Baltic countries has traditionally been strong supporters of Ukraine’s European integration. Сonsequently, the 1st panel of discussion was connected with the issues: «What shall we do to accelerate Ukraine’s EU integration?». Speakers expressed their opinions on how friendship between Ukraine and the Baltics can contribute to Ukraine’s quicker integration into the EU. 2nd panel was dedicated to the instruments of accelerating the commercial cooperation to achieve more trade investments.

The question of the active cooperation of young leaders from around the world held a red thread throughout the discussion. Thus, for participation in the event were invited representatives of local organizations like the Youth Diplomatic Initiative, the European Youth Parliament-Ukraine and Lithuanian NGOs.

Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine H.E. Mr. Petras Vaitiekunas noticed: «The first step to cooperation was made». The Embassy and organizers of the event started really a great tradition of enhancing such a kind of cooperation, which will certainly lead to further development of fruitful relationships between young people from different countries for the benefit of their states and for personal development.

On the conference was sounded a wonderful phrase: «Leaders don't have problems, they have opportunities». And this Forum clearly demonstrated the opportunities for young people; moreover, it became an excellent platform for discussion of important topics.


 

After the discussion all participants of the Forum enjoyed live music performed by Enver Izmailov.
