The Cabinet of Ministers banned foreigners from entering Ukraine for a month due to the situation with the coronavirus, but with exceptions for transit and a number of categories.
The decision was made today at a government meeting, the correspondent of "European Truth" reports.
"The project envisages temporarily banning the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into Ukraine for the duration of the quarantine, except for certain categories of persons," said Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
According to him, the ban does not apply to foreigners who pass through Ukraine in transit and have documents confirming departure within two days; who study in Ukraine; are serving in the Armed Forces; permanently reside on the territory of Ukraine and have a relevant certificate; recognized as refugees or persons in need of additional protection; are employees of diplomatic missions and consular posts of foreign states, missions of official international missions, organizations accredited in Ukraine, and members of their families or are at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, etc.
At this time, the resolution has not been published and changes are possible.
"This resolution after publication tomorrow, that is we finalize it now taking into account remarks, comes into force from Saturday, August 29 of this year and operates till 00 o'clock on September 28 during these 30 days in that edition which was sounded by Arsen Borisovich Avakov, taking into account offers , which were voiced by members of the Cabinet of Ministers ", - said Denis Shmygal.
The day before, it was reported that the government was considering a 30-day ban on foreigners from countries on Ukraine's "red list", but there was no general ban.
