According to Belarusian border guards, a member of the presidium of the Coordinating Council of the Belarusian opposition Maria Kolesnikova and two other council members Ivan Kravtsov and Anton Rodnenkov tried to leave for Ukraine.
This was reported to the Belarusian service of Radio Liberty by the official representative of the State Border Committee of Belarus Anton Bychkovsky, reports "European Truth".
At the beginning of 5 o'clock in the morning they arrived at the border crossing. There were three of them in the same car.
According to him, then they "passed border control and left towards Ukraine".
Bychkovsky could not explain whether this was done under pressure.
Meanwhile, Belarus 1 TV channel reported in its telegram channel that Anton Rodnenkov and Ivan Kravtsov "fled abroad that night."
"Now they are on the territory of Ukraine. Their colleague Maria Kolesnikova tried to leave the territory of the Republic of Belarus illegally, but was detained at the border," the statement said.
The representative of the State Border Committee Anton Bychkovsky after 9 o'clock confirmed that Rodnenkov and Kravtsov left the territory of Belarus, Kolesnikov is now detained. "We are currently considering this situation to give a legal assessment of this situation," Bychkovsky said. Initially, border guards claimed that all three had passed border control.
It will be recalled that on Monday morning, the Belarusian media reported that Maria Kolesnikova had been abducted in the center of Minsk, put in a minibus with the inscription "Communication", which went in an unknown direction. Two other members of the Coordinating Council, Anton Rodnenkov and Ivan Kravtsov, also stopped communicating.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus stated that they "do not have information" about their possible detention.
The EU called political arrests in Belarus unacceptable.
